Both the blade and accompanying scabbard are stamped “Randall Made Knives, Orlando, FLA.,” affirming its authenticity and continuity with Randall’s celebrated hand-forged tradition.

The knife remains in near mint condition, the blade retaining a clean, bright surface with all of the original cross graining, and crisp marking “Randall Made Orlando, FLA M” on obverse, and “199” on the reverse. The brass crossguard shows only minor, even tarnish consistent with light aging. The black Micarta handle is particularly well preserved, exhibiting no visible wear and maintaining its original contour and finish.  Overall the knife measures 7″ long with a blade length of 3 3/4″.

It is accompanied by its original leather scabbard, also in excellent condition, showing only minor signs of age and gentle use while remaining fully intact and structurally sound.

Offered in near mint overall condition, this Randall Model 15 Airman Knife – Miniature presents a rare opportunity to acquire a refined and seldom-encountered variant, appealing to collectors for both its condition and its faithful representation of one of Randall’s most enduring military designs.

Historical Description: Founded in 1938 by Bo Randall in Orlando, Florida, Randall Made Knives rose to prominence during World War II, when U.S. servicemen began privately purchasing the company’s hand-forged blades for combat and field use. Though never standard-issue, Randall knives became widely carried by soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen who valued their durability, edge retention, and versatility. The knives were used for everything from utility tasks to close combat, earning a reputation for reliability under extreme conditions and becoming closely associated with elite American fighting forces.

In the postwar years and through the Vietnam War, Randall expanded its range of specialized military and survival knives, including the Model 14 “Attack,” Model 15 “Airman,” and the Model 16 Diver, designed specifically for underwater and maritime use. The Model 16 featured corrosion-resistant materials and rugged construction suited to naval personnel and divers operating in harsh saltwater environments. The company also contributed to survival knife development for aviators and specialized units, and collaborated on the Model 17 “Astro” for early U.S. space missions. Today, Randall Made Knives remain highly regarded for their craftsmanship and deep military heritage, representing a unique blend of functional design and historical significance.
