Product Description:

A nice example of a WWII Polish Resistance Armband. Constructed from cotton fabric in the national colors of white and red, this armband was worn by members of the Armia Krajowa (Home Army) during active resistance operations against German occupation forces. These armbands served as unofficial identifiers for insurgents lacking formal military uniforms and were often produced in clandestine workshops under wartime conditions. This example remains in well-preserved condition, showing expected signs of age and handling. An evocative artifact from one of the most significant acts of resistance in occupied Europe, representing both the struggle and spirit of the Polish underground during World War II. Armband in excellent condition with minor discoloration and light wear consistent with age and use.

Historical Description: The Polish Army Uprising armband is a powerful symbol of resistance worn by members of the Armia Krajowa (Home Army) during World War II, most notably in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. Made from simple cotton in white and red—the national colors of Poland—these armbands served as improvised identifiers for resistance fighters operating without official uniforms. Often produced in clandestine workshops, they sometimes featured symbols like the “WP” (Wojsko Polskie) or the “Kotwica” emblem of the underground state. Though modest in construction, these armbands embodied the courage, unity, and defiance of the Polish people under Nazi occupation, and they remain enduring artifacts of wartime resistance.
