Product Description: A WHW (Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes) Adolf Hitler Tinnie featuring a profile, issued as part of the Nazi regime’s annual winter relief fundraising campaign. Struck in aluminum, the badge bears the years 1935-36 and was given to donors as a visible token of support for the National Socialist welfare program. The reverse retains its original pin, and the piece remains in excellent condition with light age wear. A nice example of Nazi-era propaganda and charitable engagement, representative of early Third Reich social initiatives.
Historical Description: WHW tinnies were small commemorative badges distributed during fundraising campaigns for the Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes (Winter Relief of the German People), a major Nazi-era welfare initiative. Organized by the Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt (NSV) beginning in 1933, the WHW was designed to provide food, fuel, and clothing to needy Germans during the harsh winter months. These efforts were presented as both charitable and patriotic duties, tightly integrated into the Nazi regime’s social and propaganda apparatus.
