Product Description: This is an outstanding original example of the iconic and highly desirable Two-Piece NSDAP Armband in BeVo style. This armband is a two-piece style, with a Bevo style, machine woven roundel, that has been machine stitched to the red armband. The roundel is clean, with tight factory style zig-zag stitching all the way around. The body of the armband is made of a thin red cotton fabric which shows slight fading and some small scattered stains. It does have some pin holes through out from pins being fastened to it.

The body of the armband is crafted from thin red cotton fabric, exhibiting only slight fading and a few small, scattered stains consistent with age and period wear. The reverse is correctly sewn together, with the long edges neatly finished in typical straight machine stitching.

The interior displays the bobbin thread from the roundel’s attachment stitching, further confirming its authentic wartime construction. These classic NSDAP armbands, especially in the BeVo style, have become increasingly difficult to source in recent years as collector demand has risen sharply. Inside, this attractive armband retains the original RZM paper tag. The tag is complete, and virtually pristine, with no damage. The maker code stamped on the tag is A4/213.

This example, with its honest signs of wear and exceptional overall preservation, would make a superb addition to any advanced Third Reich collection. The condition of this NSDAP BeVo armband rates as excellent plus.

Historical Description: Nearly every military, civil, political and paramilitary organization in existence during the Third Reich used armbands. Armbands were worn on military and civilian uniforms and also on civilian clothes, from suit jackets to work clothing. They were used to denote membership in organizations, to indicate a specific role or function of the bearer, and as insignia of rank. Many organizations would change the design of their armbands over time, which added to the variety produced. These were manufactured in countless variations, ranging from simple printed bands to elaborately hand-embroidered pieces of the highest quality. Some Nazi armbands were worn by all members of large organizations and were made by the millions. Others were intended for use at a specific time and place and were unique. Many types were made in very limited numbers. Some bore metal insignia or special identifiers that indicated the wearer’s rank, unit affiliation, or nationality. Armbands were sometimes but not always marked with ink stamps by the issuing authorities.
