Product Description: This TeNo Jr Hewer is a very nice example, complete with its leather hanger. These hard-to-find hewers are rarely seen in this fine condition. The nickel plated blade on this piece retains all of the original plating, with only light scattered freckling throughout. The blade is well-marked near the guard with the TeNo organizational emblem, “Ges. Gesch” indicating a legally protected design, and the maker emblem of the firm of Eickhorn in Solingen, all neatly etched. The blade is also numbered “1101.” The original leather buffer disk is intact. The handle of this TeNo Jr Hewer is outstanding. The metal fittings retain all of their original nickel plating, with a fair amount of the factory darkening in the recesses. The white Trylon grip plates have a pristine look, with no cracks or other damage. The scabbard of this hewer is also extraordinary, with nearly all of the original glossy black paint on the scabbard body still intact. The scabbard drag and throat fittings retain all of their original nickel plating, with no lifting, and lovely shine. The scabbard throat is also marked “1101,” matching the number on the blade. There are no dents or other damage to note. The leather hanger is complete and intact, with no damage, and remains supple. This hanger is one of the nicest we have had in a long time. This choice piece would be very hard to upgrade, and displays extremely well. The condition rates as excellent plus.

Historical Description: The Technical Emergency Corp (TeNo) was formed on September 30, 1919, to assist the German population during times of crisis and disaster resulting from natural catastrophes. The Teno Hewer and Leader’s Dagger was authorized for wear by all Teno Officers and subordinate members in 1938. The Hewer was intended for actual use in emergencies as an axe or hacking knife. The sole manufacturer of both TENO’s was Carl Eickhorn. The Leaders Teno Dagger was designed solely for ornamental wear. Both the Hewer and Dress Dagger are highly collected by collectors for their scarcity and beautiful design.
