Product Description: This TeNo Hewer by Eickhorn has a lot going for it. It’s a beautiful example of a scarce and desirable blade, by a top quality manufacturer. It’s also a matching example, with the serial number “5152” on the blade under the crossguard and on the scabbard throat. The blade on this one is very nice, with only minor graying as well as normal surface scratches and runner marks. The ricasso is extensively marked, with a crisply etched TeNo eagle and swastika organizational emblem, “Ges. gesch.” indicating a legally protected design, and the commercial type “squirrel” maker mark of the firm of Eickhorn in Solingen. The handle is beautiful, with a light, pleasant age patina. The grip shows no cracks or chips, and the crossguard with TeNo emblem has a great look, with darkening in the recesses of the design. The metal fittings on this piece look to still have some of the original lacquer. This TeNo dagger by Eickhorn is complete with its original scabbard. The scabbard is straight and undamaged, and most of the original black enamel painted finish is intact, with some minor losses from wear. This is an outstanding piece, in excellent plus condition.

Historical Description: The Technical Emergency Corp (TeNo) was formed on September 30, 1919, to assist the German population during times of crisis and disaster resulting from natural catastrophes. The Teno Hewer and Leader’s Dagger was authorized for wear by all Teno Officers and subordinate members in 1938. The Hewer was intended for actual use in emergencies as an axe or hacking knife. The sole manufacturer of both TENO’s was Carl Eickhorn. The Leaders Teno Dagger was designed solely for ornamental wear. Both the Hewer and Dress Dagger are highly collected by collectors for their scarcity and beautiful design.
