Product Description: This is an exceptional and complete SS Officer Brocade Belt & Buckle with Aiguillette and Case, an offering that would be nearly impossible to upgrade. A prewar production piece (circa 1937-1939), this set remains in stunning, near-mint condition. The buckle is made of bare aluminum and exhibits virtually no wear, with all of its intricate original details fully intact. The reverse is nicely marked, featuring the SS runic emblem, the RZM round emblem, the maker code “36/38” indicating manufacture by Overhoff & Cie, and the Overhoff “OLC” commercial-style maker mark. The buckle is completely original with no damage or repairs. It is accompanied by its original and very rare SS brocade belt, constructed of woven aluminum wire with a black felt backing. The belt is adorned with continuous SS runes and oak leaves along its entire length and remains in outstanding condition with no damage. The inside of the belt is marked “85”, denoting a size of 85 cm. The aiguillette is mint and appears to have never been used, made of silver bullion, adding an elegant and untouched aspect to the set. The set is housed in its original black leatherette case with a purple interior lining. Due to age, the top lid has started to separate slightly, but this does not detract from the overall presentation. This SS Officer’s Brocade Belt & Buckle set, complete with its original aiguillette and case, is in exceptional near-mint condition, making it a museum-worthy collectible and a top-tier addition to any collection. Overall the Condition of this SS Officer Brocade Belt & Buckle with Aiguillette and Case is in near mint condition.
Historical Description: The SS brocade belt and aiguillette were part of the ceremonial and parade dress uniforms worn by high-ranking members of the Schutzstaffel (SS), particularly in formal events, state functions, and honor guard duties. These elaborate accessories signified prestige and authority within the SS hierarchy. The “RMZ 35/38” marking on the buckle corresponds to the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) approval system, which regulated and standardized Nazi-era equipment and insignia. Period-correct SS brocade belts and aiguillettes are scarce, particularly when found with their original storage case, making this set a highly collectible and historically significant piece for advanced collectors of Third Reich militaria.
