Product Description: This is an exceptionally rare and highly sought-after Silver Anti-Partisan Badge, attributed to C.E. Juncker, Berlin – Type 3. A seldom-encountered example, this badge is crafted in semi-hollow zinc construction and retains approximately 70% of its original silver wash, a remarkable level of preservation for this award.

The intricate design features an oval oak wreath with acorns, framing the striking central imagery. At the base of the wreath sits a detailed skull and crossbones, symbolizing the ruthless anti-partisan warfare for which this award was issued. Above, a multi-headed serpent, representing enemy partisan forces, is wrapped around a vertical sword, which is positioned hilt-up in a triumphant display of German military strength. The hilt prominently displays a ‘sunwheel’ swastika, further reinforcing the significance of this elite award.

The reverse is unmarked, as is correct for this version, but is firmly attributed to C.E. Juncker, Berlin – Type 3. It features the correct soldered catch and hinge with a wide pin assembly, all of which remain in fully functional, original condition.

Anti-Partisan Badges in silver grade are exceptionally difficult to find, especially in such well-preserved condition. This example has no damage or repairs, retaining its original hardware and stunning detail throughout.

A truly remarkable and historically significant piece, this rare and desirable badge would make an outstanding addition to any advanced collection of Third Reich combat awards.

Condition: Excellent++  A rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Silver Anti-Partisan Badge by Juncker in amazing condition!

Historical Description: The Anti-Partisan Badge was instituted by a decree of “The Führer, Adolf Hitler” on January 29, 1944. Hitler stated that was creating the badge to recognize the combat actions of the German troops who were facing an ever-more organized and constantly more dangerous partisan war. The Anti-Partisan Badge was to recognize military accomplishments and personal bravery. The badge featured a sword slaying a Hydra that represented the partisans. There were three grades of this award: Bronze, for 20 combat days; Silver, for 50 combat days; and Gold for 100 combat days against partisans. To qualify as a combat day, a soldier had to be engaged in close combat with the enemy; for soldiers deployed as Infantry, “man against” man combat was specified. The criteria for Luftwaffe members was also based on combat days. Flight crews could earn combat days for carrying out successful missions during which they took fire from partisan enemy. The downing of a partisan aircraft was tallied as 3 combat days. SS-Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler reserved the right to personally award the gold grade of this award. The Anti-Partisan badge was awarded to members of the German Army, Luftwaffe, Ordnungspolizei and Waffen-SS.
