Product Description: This NSKK Dagger by Tiger is a choice example. The blade on this one is outstanding, and near mint. The motto etching is nice and crisp. The reverse is marked on the ricasso with the RZM emblem, as well as the code “M7/68” indicating manufacture by the desirable maker Tiger in Solingen. The blade is also dated 1941. The handle of this dagger is gorgeous. The plated crossguards are near mint, with great shine. The grip is also near mint, and features a nice aluminum grip eagle. The SA roundel is perfect, with flawless enamel. The pommel nut shows no signs of ever having been turned. This attractive NSKK Dagger by Tiger is complete with its original scabbard. The scabbard body retains about 98 percent of the original, factory applied, black enamel paint, with light marks throughout. The drag and throat fittings on the scabbard are the earlier nickel type, with light patina. The scabbard is perfectly straight. The suspension ring is intact, and retains an original dagger hanger. The hanger is an early one, with nickel fittings, and brown leather. This dagger displays extremely well, and remains in incredible, near mint condition. It would be tough to upgrade.
Historical Description: The National Socialist Motor Corps (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps, or NSKK) was a Nazi paramilitary organization that conducted training in the operation of motorcycles and automobiles, as well as transported Nazi Party and SA personnel. It was founded in 1931, as a successor to the National Socialist Automobile Corps. The organization and ranks in the NSKK were similar to that of the SA. It focused on fitness in motoring skills, including maintenance and use of both military and civilian vehicles. NSKK members assisted with traffic direction, as well as the transportation of personnel involved with constructing the bunker system on Germany’s western frontier. Starting with the outbreak of war in 1939, the NSKK assisted the German armed forces, providing infrastructural support. As with most uniformed organizations in the Third Reich, the NSKK had a myriad of specific regalia and insignia, each with its own distinct purpose and meaning.
