The enamel retains strong color and clarity, characteristic of the high production standards associated with the Deschler firm.
Historical Description: The National Socialist German Students’ League (Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Studentenbund, NSDStB) was the official university-level organization of the Nazi Party, established in 1926. Its purpose was to bring students at German universities and technical colleges into alignment with National Socialist ideology, ensuring that future professionals, academics, and civil servants were ideologically loyal to the regime. The NSDStB promoted political activism, racial doctrines, and unwavering support for Adolf Hitler, while also working to reshape campus life through propaganda events, marches, and strict control of student organizations.
After the Nazi seizure of power in 1933, the NSDStB grew rapidly and exerted significant influence over academic institutions. It played a key role in orchestrating activities such as the 1933 book burnings and helped enforce discriminatory policies against Jewish students and faculty. By subordinating academic independence to party goals, the organization contributed to the Nazification of higher education. The NSDStB was dissolved in 1945 with the collapse of the Nazi regime, and its activities were later recognized as part of the broader machinery of totalitarian control.
