Mint Hitler Youth Armband – RZM Tag

Product Description: This mint Hitler Youth Armband is an outstanding example of this popular armband type, that would be nearly impossible to upgrade. The body of the armband is made of thin, machine woven, rayon fabric, with a white central stripe. The colors of this piece are factory fresh and very bright. The fabric is fresh, crisp, and pristine. The center of the front of the armband is emblazoned with a diamond shaped swastika, in the Bevo machine woven style. There is no age toning to note. The short edges of the armband are factory machine stitched together, as this would have been issued. Inside, this mint Hitler Youth Armband features a perfect RZM paper tag. The tag has a Hitler Youth organizational emblem and the maker code RZM A4/52, and is exactly as it was when it was made. On the back of the armband, there are two small areas of tape residue where it was mounted on something. We have made no attempt to remove this, and it does not detract from the armband when it is displayed. It is extremely hard to find this type of armband in this condition.

Armbands were worn on military and civilian uniforms and also on civilian clothes, from suit jackets to work clothing. They were used to denote membership in organizations, to indicate a specific role or function of the bearer, and as insignia of rank. Many organizations would change the design of their armbands over time, which added to the variety produced. These were manufactured in countless variations, ranging from simple printed bands to elaborately hand-embroidered pieces of the highest quality. Some Nazi armbands were worn by all members of large organizations and were made by the millions. Others were intended for use at a specific time and place and were unique. Many types were made in very limited numbers. Some bore metal insignia or special identifiers that indicated the wearer’s rank, unit affiliation, or nationality. Armbands were sometimes but not always marked with ink stamps by the issuing authorities.
