Surrounding this, is the wording “Zur Erinnerung, 1. Oktober 1938” (In Memory of 1. October 1938), commemorating the date of the German entry into the Sudetenland. The Meissen crossed swords emblem is featured twice. The other side of this attractive piece features a stylized map, together with the famous Nazi propaganda slogan “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer” (One People, One Nation, One Leader). This desirable and uncommon Liberation of the Sudetenland Meissen Table Medal has a great look, with no chips or cracks, and only very slight signs of age and handling. The condition rates as excellent plus.

Historical Description: Meissen porcelain is the first European hard-paste porcelain. It was developed in 1708, by Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus. The production of porcelain at Meissen, near Dresden, started in 1710 and attracted many artists. This production established one of the most famous porcelain manufacturers Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen GmbH, which is still in business today. Its signature logo is the crossed swords and was introduced in 1720, to protect its production. The mark of the crossed swords is one of the oldest trademarks in existence. It dominated the style of European porcelain until 1756. It was expensive and bought by the upper classes. Several fine pieces, such as these Meissen Medallions, were produced during the Third Reich Era.
