Product Description: An authentic Heer Gebirgsjäger Soldbuch with SS Photo Named to Willy Beckermann, born March 17, 1921. This original World War II issued identification and service booklet contains entries dating from 1942 to 1945, with several internal pages featuring official stamps, ink markings, and notations related to army service. The inner cover retains its original stapled photograph of the named soldier and list him as being connected to the 11th Gebirgsjäger.
The photos shows the Soldbuch owner Beckermann photographed with 4 other men, a few of which are wearing SS insignia. Photo is in excellent condition and has some personalized writing on back as shown.

Historical Description: The Wehrpaß and Soldbuch were essential military documents used by the German Wehrmacht during World War II to manage and record soldiers’ service. The Wehrpaß, issued upon registration for military duty, served as a comprehensive, centrally held record of a soldier’s training, unit assignments, medical evaluations, promotions, and awards, but was not carried in the field. In contrast, the Soldbuch was a compact, portable document issued at the start of active duty and kept on the soldier’s person at all times, functioning as an ID, pay book, and record of issued equipment, medical treatment, and daily administrative details. Together, they formed the backbone of personnel tracking in the German military, and today they serve as important historical sources for understanding individual service histories and broader Wehrmacht organization.
