Product Description: An original and extremely Rare SG42 Bayonet. The SG42 Bayonet was designed to replace the standard German bayonet of World War Two. It was produced in limited numbers. The SG42 Bayonet doubled as a fighting knife, and with the addition of a multi tool that fit neatly inside the grip, it was also a versatile tool that could be implemented on the frontlines.

The blade of the bayonet is 7 inches (18cm) long, and is made of steel. The blade is in excellent condition with scattered light marks along the length and signs of light sharpening. The blade is marked on it’s ricasso with the “COF” and the Waffenampt mark of WaA519, for the firm of Carl Eickhorn. The grip of the blade is made of riveted bakelite plates, which are in excellent condition. No cracks are present. The bayonet lug attachment mechanism is in perfect working order.

The tool kit is in near mint condition. The multi-tool is retains 99% of its original bluing. Each of the three tools, knife/can opener, screwdriver/wire stripper, and pick, are in unaltered condition and function perfectly. The knife/can opener is marked with “LTK”. The tool kit snaps into the handle of the blade appropriately.

The scabbard of the SG42 Bayonet is made of bakelite and a steel belt clip. The bakelite sheath is in near mint condition, with no cracks or chips present. The steel belt clip is pressed into the throat of the scabbard. Please note, it has been brought to our attention that the belt clip could be a replacement. The price reflects this possibility.
