Product Description: This Cased 25 Year NSDAP Faithful Service Medal with Women’s Ribbon is a rare and very desirable political award. The medal itself is exquisite, and in outstanding, near mint condition. It is made of gilded Tombak, and is the early and more rare thin version. The gold finish is nearly perfect, with beautiful luster to the polished highlights and only extremely slight toning to the outer flanges of the frame. The high-quality enamel is pristine. The suspension ring is marked with the PKZ number “19,” indicating manufacture by the firm of E. Ferdinand Wiedmann in Frankfurt. Two sets of ribbons accompany this award: the standard ribbon, and the extremely rare, smaller women’s size ribbon. Both ribbons are full length, and show only slight age toning. This NSDAP Faithful Service medal is complete with its correct original case. The exterior shows light wear throughout, with some losses to the original red leatherette surface, mostly to the bottom. The lid has a German eagle and swastika emblem embossed in gold foil. The hinge and push-button closure function with no issues. Inside, the Long Service medal rests on a cream-colored insert. The silk lining is intact with no issues. This is a very hard to find set, that would be tough to upgrade. The overall condition is excellent.
Historical Description: Adolf Hitler was an army veteran in 1919. Frustrated by Germany’s defeat in World War I, he joined a new political organization called the German Workers’ Party. The organization was founded earlier that same year and promoted German nationalism. Members of this organization felt that the Treaty of Versailles was extremely unjust to Germany, by burdening it with reparations it could never pay. Hitler became the leader of this party in 1921 and changed the name to The National Socialist German Workers’ Party; Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP). In 1933, Hitler became chancellor of Germany and his Nazi government soon assumed dictatorial powers. After Germany’s defeat in World War II the Nazi party was outlawed.
