Admiral Tirpitz Bust

Product Description: This Admiral Tirpitz Bust is a fine display object. It measures about 5 inches tall and 3-1/2 inches wide. It depicts Grand Admiral Alfred Peter Friedrich von Tirpitz, Secretary of State of the German Imperial Naval Office from 1897 until 1916. The bust shows von Tirpitz bareheaded, in military uniform with decorations. It is made of brass, and is very nicely detailed and beautifully done. The bust has a great dark bronze finish, with some light golden tones peeking through in a few areas. The bust rests on an integral plinth, with a lovely bronze look. A look at the underside shows that this piece was hollow cast in one piece. There are no cracks or other evident damage, just a pleasant, uncleaned, old look. This Admiral Tirpitz Bust is not a common piece to find. The condition of this one rates as excellent.

After the end of WWII, artwork featuring military or nationalistic imagery fell out of favor in some European societies. Many pieces were destroyed.
