Condition: Excellent

Product Description:  A 1936 NSDAP Organizational Handbook, presented in excellent overall condition, representing a well-preserved example of this official Party reference volume issued during the formative years of the Third Reich. First introduced in the early 1930s and periodically updated, the Organisationsbuch der NSDAP served as the definitive administrative compendium outlining the structure, hierarchy, uniforms, and insignia of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party and its affiliated formations. It functioned as both a bureaucratic manual and an instrument of institutional standardization within the expanding Party apparatus.

The present 1936 NSDAP Organizational Handbook appears complete, with all pages present. The spine remains largely intact and structurally sound, firm and stable upon examination. The volume exhibits expected discoloration and handling wear to the covers and interior pages, consistent with age and long-term storage. There is minor internal separation beginning at the front, near the portrait of Adolf Hitler, a not uncommon occurrence in examples of this size and construction.

Overall, this 1936 NSDAP Organizational Handbook rates in excellent condition, offering strong historical presence and significance as a documentary artifact of the administrative framework of the National Socialist regime.

Historical Description: The Organisationsbuch der NSDAP (Organizational Handbook of the NSDAP) was an official reference volume detailing the structure, hierarchy, and administrative framework of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. First issued in the 1930s and revised in subsequent editions, the handbook codified the complex network of political offices, regional divisions, ranks, uniforms, and insignia that defined the Party’s institutional identity.

Produced under official authority, the volume outlined the roles and responsibilities of Party leadership at every level—from the Reichsleitung down to local Ortsgruppen—alongside affiliated formations such as the SA, SS, Hitler Youth, and other auxiliary organizations. Illustrated plates and charts documented rank insignia, flags, standards, and organizational symbols, reflecting the regime’s emphasis on visual order, hierarchy, and uniformity.

As a publication, the handbook functioned both as an administrative guide and as a tool of internal cohesion, reinforcing centralized authority and standardized procedure across the expanding Party apparatus. Today, surviving examples are regarded as significant primary-source documents, studied for the insight they provide into the bureaucratic structure and institutional culture of the National Socialist regime in Germany between 1933 and 1945.
