Historical Description: In 1938, the Reich’s police forces underwent standardization, leading to the adoption of this distinct belt buckle design. These buckles were worn by municipal, rural, and Ordnungspolizei (Order Police) personnel, who played a key role in maintaining domestic security, occupation duties, and wartime policing operations. Early aluminum versions were later replaced with steel variants as wartime material shortages increased, making these pre-war aluminum examples highly sought-after by collectors today.
