Product Description: This Police Enlisted Belt Buckle, adopted in 1938, is a classic example of pre-war and wartime German police uniform insignia. The die-struck steel construction retains its original detail, showcasing the oval wreath surrounding the national eagle and swastika emblem. The buckle exhibits light wear and patina, consistent with period use, while the reverse features the integral catch and prongs for securing to a standard-issue belt. A fine representation of an authentic wartime Polizei enlisted ranks buckle, this piece is an excellent addition to any collection of Third Reich militaria.

Historical Description: In 1938, the Reich’s police forces underwent standardization, leading to the adoption of this distinct belt buckle design. The national eagle and swastika emblem, enclosed by an oak leaf wreath, symbolized the paramilitary nature of the German police under the control of the SS and Heinrich Himmler. These buckles were worn by municipal, rural, and Ordnungspolizei (Order Police) personnel, who played a key role in maintaining domestic security, occupation duties, and wartime policing operations. Early aluminum versions were later replaced with steel variants as wartime material shortages increased, making these pre-war aluminum examples highly sought-after by collectors today.
