Product Description: This SS Edelweiß Sleeve Patch is an unissued example. This pattern of insignia was worn by members of Gebirgsjäger (mountain troop) units in the Waffen-SS. The patch is in the form of an oval of typical black SS wool badge cloth. Machine embroidered on this is an Edelweiss flower, within an embroidered border. The embroidery on this patch is perfectly executed and shows no issues. The eye-catching colors are bright, and the embroidered thread is clean. It’s pristine, with no wear, no stitch holes or any other traces of wear. The reverse of this patch is textbook, with no backing to cover up the bobbin thread of the embroidery. This SS Edelweiß Sleeve Patch shows only extremely slight age toning, and generally looks just as it did the day it was made. The condition rates as near mint.
